Garvin County Release Records
A release is always tied to a particular custodian. A bond release ends the Garvin County Sheriff's physical custody, but the criminal case may continue. A transfer ends one agency's control while another takes over. Parole moves an Oklahoma prisoner into conditional community custody, while a full discharge ends the part of incarceration or supervision shown by that ODOC record. Death or escape can also remove a name from a normal roster, so disappearance alone must never be described as community release.
The Garvin County Detention Center is the main local custody point. Lindsay City Jail is a separate municipal holding operation. State imprisonment and community supervision belong to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, while the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board records parole decisions. Federal Bureau of Prisons, ICE, tribal, and U.S. Marshals custody require different checks. The decisive question is simple: which agency's custody ended, and what agency, if any, received the person next?
- Discharge
- The recorded end of the custody or supervision status held by that agency.
- Time served
- A court-recognized completion of required jail time, followed by sheriff processing.
- Parole
- Conditional community release for the remaining part of a prison term.
- Probation
- Court-ordered community supervision that may occur without a prison stay.
- Detainer
- A request or authority that can keep a person for another custodian.
Garvin County Release Paths
Garvin County release paths differ in both legal effect and the record used to prove them. The sheriff's current list uses local bond categories, including cash, bail, surety, and personal-recognizance bonds. It can also display holds and custody groupings. None of those entries is a completed discharge timestamp. A court order may authorize release, yet jail staff must still process the order and check other holds.
| Event | What it means | Best confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| Bond or PR release | County custody ends subject to court terms | Jail discharge entry and court bond order |
| Time served or dismissal | Local legal basis for custody ends | Jail discharge entry and judgment or order |
| ODOC transfer | County custody ends and state custody begins | Sheriff transfer record and ODOC reception status |
| Tribal, county, ICE, or USMS transfer | One custody layer ends while another starts | Records from both sending and receiving agencies |
| Parole | State prison custody changes to supervised community status | ODOC Certificate or status plus final Board result |
| Full discharge | The ODOC obligation shown by the record ends | ODOC discharge record or Closed Records confirmation |
A completed community release should be stated with the source and date. For example, a Garvin County jail-register entry can report discharge by bond, while an ODOC record can report a state discharge. Broad claims that a person is simply “free” exceed what either record proves.
Garvin County Bond Release Status
The Garvin County Sheriff's current jail list distinguishes cash bond, bail bond, surety, and PR bond. Individual entries can also show conditions such as GPS or passport restrictions, or state “No Bond.” These labels are useful when tracing why a release may or may not occur. They do not publish the local posting method, accepted payment forms, processing time, or a county bond schedule.
A listed amount shows a term in the current data. It does not show that payment was accepted or that the person physically departed. Likewise, a signed court order supplies authority but may not resolve a second case, an outside hold, or jail processing. Confirm the court's order, then obtain the sheriff's discharge entry. That pair separates a bond decision from the actual Garvin County release event.
Note: A bond amount or future RELEASE/PO entry is a lead for verification, not proof of completed discharge.
Garvin County Discharge Record Fields
Oklahoma's jail-register rule makes the historical record more useful than the weekday roster. Under 51 O.S. §24A.8, producible jail-register information, if kept, includes the prisoner's name, commitment date and cause, committing authority, criminal-offense indicator, description, and date or manner of discharge or escape. A narrow request should seek the existing booking or register entry, not ask staff to create a new report.
| Field | What it answers |
|---|---|
| Name and identifiers | Which booking is involved and whether a namesake was avoided |
| Commitment date and cause | When and why the custody entry began |
| Committing authority | Which court or agency ordered the hold |
| Booking or case number, if kept | How to connect the jail record with OSCN or another file |
| Discharge date and manner | When Garvin custody ended and how the exit was classified |
| Receiving authority | Whether the person went to ODOC, another county, tribal, or federal custody |
| Booking photograph, if releasable | Which image belongs to the specified booking |
The sheriff does not publish a fixed retention period. Section 24A.8 does not create a new duty to retain every file or construct an online archive. Ask which formats and date ranges survive. When no record is found, request a written response and ask whether the file was transferred, archived, destroyed under a schedule, or held by a different custodian.
Request Garvin County Release Records
Send a purpose-neutral Oklahoma Open Records Act request to Garvin County Records at pmccone@garvincountysheriff.net, or mail or deliver it to the Sheriff's Office. The office lists Patrick McCone as its records contact. Identify the full name, useful identifiers, and a narrow booking date range. Ask specifically for the date and manner of discharge and the receiving authority if a transfer occurred.
- Identify the person with full name, spelling variants, approximate booking dates, and a booking or case number when known.
- Request the existing jail-register or booking entry, including commitment fields, discharge date and manner, and receiving agency.
- Ask for the booking photograph only if it is kept and subject to release. Request an electronic copy.
- Ask for an advance fee estimate and the legal basis for any redaction or withheld field.
- Pair the result with the court order or receiving-agency status that explains the custody change.

Section 24A.5 generally ties ordinary copying charges to reasonable direct costs and commonly caps paper copies at twenty-five cents per page or one dollar for certified copies. Garvin County publishes no local fee schedule or promised turnaround, so request a current estimate. The Act calls for prompt, reasonable access but gives no universal number of days.
Pair Garvin Release and Court Records
Garvin's court and custody records have different custodians at nearly the same courthouse address. The OSCN docket gateway and Garvin County Court Clerk can show a bond order, dismissal, judgment, sentence, revocation, or later modification. The sheriff's register shows when detention actually ended or changed to a transfer. Reading both prevents “case disposed” from being mistaken for “person left jail.”
Search OSCN by case number when possible, then by party name and Garvin County. Read entries in date order. A time-served judgment can explain the legal reason for discharge, but another hold may delay departure. A certified order comes from the Garvin County Court Clerk at 201 W. Grant Ave., Suite 3, Pauls Valley, at the research-listed number 405-238-5596, which should be reconfirmed before a visit.
Garvin Release Records After Expungement
Oklahoma's full-record expungement process rests mainly on 22 O.S. §18 and 22 O.S. §19. Eligibility depends on the current law and the case facts. An eligible person petitions the district court where the arrest information is located, with notice and hearing rules that can involve the prosecutor, arresting agency, and OSBI.
A sealed or expunged case may vanish or become limited online. That absence is not a new release record and should not be used to reconstruct protected material. The Open Records Act also allows or requires protection for juvenile, medical, victim, confidential-source, personal, and active-investigation information. A requester can ask for segregable public fields and the legal basis for each redaction.
Search Garvin County Released Inmates
There is no single complete search for every Garvin County release. Start with identity and last known custodian, then follow the custody chain. A current roster is one dated snapshot. The permanent answer comes from the agency record that documents discharge or transfer.
- Gather the exact legal name, spelling variants, approximate age, booking dates, case number, and DOC or federal identifier.
- Check the dated sheriff list. Treat a match as current at its posted update and a missing name only as a negative snapshot.
- Request the Garvin County jail-register discharge date, manner, and receiving authority.
- Search OSCN for the court action, then ODOC for state custody or supervision and PPB only for parole action.
- Use OK VINE for a status alert, then follow BOP, ICE, tribal, or USMS channels when the record points there.
- Confirm the event with two sources that answer different questions, such as a sheriff transfer record and ODOC reception.
The Garvin County 24-Hour Releases page explains the absence of an official same-day feed. It is useful for recent-event limits, while a named-person search still needs the record sequence above.
ODOC Garvin Release Search
The Oklahoma Department of Corrections Offender Lookup is the correct statewide path when a Garvin case led to ODOC custody or supervision. Search the exact name, then use the DOC number whenever known. Compare identifying details, sentencing court, CRF or case number, offense entries, and the reported custody or supervision status. Save the date checked because the display is abbreviated and ODOC warns of completeness limits.
| Lookup field | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Name and identifying details | Compare exact spelling and available age information |
| DOC number | Separate people with similar names |
| Sentencing court and CRF number | Connect the ODOC result to a Garvin court case |
| Facility or supervision status | Identify the agency's reported custody layer |
| Term and statute codes | Transcribe them without turning the abbreviated display into a time calculation |
The official lookup interface shows how Oklahoma starts an offender search. View the ODOC search form at its source before comparing the documented fields.
The captured interface is a search gateway, not proof of any person's release date. A released, inactive, discharged, or supervision label applies only as ODOC reports it. Exact tentative release dates are generally confidential absent a legitimate need, and a no-result can have several causes. ODOC Legal Services, Open Records, or Closed Records supplies the stronger discharge path.
Garvin County Recent Release Limits
The sheriff publishes one current jail list, updated at 9:00 a.m. except weekends and holidays. It has no released toggle, archive, historical search, actual discharge time, or booking photographs. Its columns are DATE, NAME, CHARGE/BOND, HOLDS, and RELEASE/PO. The last field can show a future date for a person still listed, so it is prospective rather than proof of completed departure.
A person released after the posted update may remain until the next update. Weekend and holiday gaps last longer. Comparing snapshots can show only that the list changed, not whether the reason was bond, time served, transfer, data lag, or a spelling correction. Garvin County therefore publishes neither an official twenty-four-hour nor seventy-two-hour release feed.
Travel After Garvin County Release
Transportation should be arranged only after release is positively confirmed. The Oklahoma rural transit directory identifies Delta Public Transit service for Garvin and McClain Counties, including demand-response service involving Pauls Valley. A local community source lists a transit phone number, but no official source says the provider is a jail shuttle or that jail staff take people to a stop.
Pauls Valley also has a daily Heartland Flyer trip in each direction under the current Amtrak timetable. Schedules change. Confirm the actual discharge first, call the carrier ahead, and independently arrange travel between the detention center and a pickup point. Do not treat a projected release field as enough reason to book a fixed connection.
Garvin Release Property and Errors
The Sheriff's Office lists Evidence and Property Officer Steve Combes at evidence@garvincountysheriff.net. It publishes no release-property pickup procedure. Before anyone travels, ask what identification, authorization, appointment, or release document is required. The published contact confirms an office route, not a promise that property will be available at a certain time or place.
Send factual errors in a county jail record to Garvin County Records. An ODOC calculation or status issue belongs with ODOC Sentence Administration or Closed Records. Keeping those channels separate avoids asking the sheriff to change a state sentence record or asking ODOC to correct a county booking entry.
Garvin County Post-Release Supervision
ODOC supervises parolees and qualifying probation cases. The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board considers parole and publishes its own decisions. A favorable Board result is not physical release; the ODOC Certificate of Release or status record and reporting instructions document the later custody event. Probation also does not prove a prison stay because a deferred or suspended sentence can begin in the community.
Search ODOC by name and DOC number, then use the official Probation and Parole Services directory. The Pauls Valley office is at 225 W McClure, Suite 103, and the research lists 405-268-2112. Garvin County is also listed in the Norman Community Sentencing service area. These are distinct supervision routes, not detention facilities. More detail appears on the Garvin County Post-Release Supervision page.
Garvin Release Alerts and Federal Custody
OK VINE can provide custody-change checks and notifications by supported phone, email, SMS, TTY, or in-app channels. A VINE alert names a participating agency's reported change. Save its time and exact wording, then reconcile it with the sheriff or ODOC record. A transfer alert is not a community release, and no official source reviewed proved that every county jail participates.
The BOP Inmate Locator covers federal inmates from 1982 forward and can show a release date or a “Released” result. That confirms exit from BOP custody only. It does not rule out supervised release, state, tribal, or ICE custody. USMS has no comparable public historical locator, so federal court records and a USMS records request may be needed.
The federal locator screenshot shows the official search and result structure. Check the BOP locator source before reading any dated capture.
Use a federal register number when known. A projected BOP date can change and is not a completed event.
Garvin County ICE Release Transfers
Immigration custody is a documented local issue. The sheriff list includes an ICE category, the Garvin County Detention Center PREA page addresses ICE detainees, and ICE published a facility inspection disclosure. A county discharge into ICE is a transfer, not freedom. Obtain the sheriff's transfer entry and then check the receiving federal source.
The ICE Online Detainee Locator searches by A-number and country of birth, or exact biographical details. ICE materials describe current and a limited recent-release window, and not every person appears. For no result, use ICE's field route or Detention Reporting and Information Line at 1-888-351-4024. After the recent window, disappearance from ODLS cannot supply a date or explain the event.
Whose Garvin Custody Ended?
Garvin's live table separates alternate housing, people housed from another county, Lighthorse, U.S. Marshals, and ICE. This unusually clear taxonomy shows why physical location, booking authority, and final custodian may differ. Someone can leave the Pauls Valley building while a Garvin case remains active. A person can also leave Garvin custody while another sovereign immediately assumes control.
| System | What a match means | What confirms release |
|---|---|---|
| Garvin current jail list | Posted as current at the dated update | Historical jail-register discharge or transfer entry |
| OSCN | Court case activity and legal orders | Pair the order with the sheriff or receiving agency record |
| ODOC lookup | Reported state custody or supervision status | ODOC discharge status, Certificate, or Closed Records response |
| VINE | Participating agency's status change | Reconcile the alert with the custodian's record |
| BOP or ICE locator | That federal agency's reported custody layer | Agency release or transfer record, with other holds checked |
Garvin County Release Facilities
Garvin County Detention Center is the primary county jail and can discharge someone to the community or transfer the person to ODOC, another county, tribal, USMS, or ICE custody. Its statutory jail-register entry is the main local proof. Lindsay City Jail is a city operation with no official online detainee or release history found. A Lindsay release must be checked with police and the court or receiving custodian named in the record.
The city and county files are not interchangeable. If Lindsay transferred someone to the Garvin County Detention Center, leaving municipal custody did not end confinement. If the county then transferred the person again, continue until the next agency's status is resolved. Each step needs an agency name and date.
